QUESTION:

Can a hypnotised person be made to do anything the hypnotist wants him or her to do?

ANSWER:

NO!  People's morals are registered deep within their subconscious minds, the part of mind responsible for getting things done.  Should a hypnotist suggest they do something against their morals, they would either ignore the suggestion or come out of their hypnotic state, depending on how bad this suggestion seemed to them.

QUESTION:

Has it been known for a person in a hypnotic trance to refuse to come out of it and then be stuck in an eternal sleep?

ANSWER:

NO!  It has never been known in the history of hypnosis, which has been practiced for  over 2000 years.

Persons under hypnosis are not in a trance, nor are they asleep.  The state of hypnosis is simply a heightened state of objective awareness.  In this state they never lose contact with their surroundings.  Due, however, to the method most commonly used to achieve that state in an individual, the subjects are enjoying a state of relaxation such as they may not have previously experienced.  Some people may wish to continue enjoying this relaxation and may not respond to the suggestion to come round to full consciousness at first.  In such rare cases, there are methods to bring them round but, if they were left alone, they would go from this relaxed hypnotic state into a normal sleep and awaken by themselves in due course.  The time taken for this would depend upon how tired the person was feeling before being hypnotised.

QUESTION:

Can anybody be hypnotised?

ANSWER:

YES,  as long as they have a sane mind.
Some people take longer to be hypnotised than others.  Generally, the more intelligent a person is, the quicker they will accept the hypnotic state.

QUESTION:

Is hypnotism an unnatural thing?

ANSWER:

NO!  Hypnosis is perfectly natural.  It is simply a more scientific and refined way of making suggestions to people.  People come under the influence of suggestion from the day they are born until the day they die.  The formation of our very character is due to suggestion, firstly from parents, then from friends, neighbours, school treachers, university lecturers, etc., and even our environment.  In short, we are all hypnotised into the way we think and act. Our very beliefs have been instilled in us from suggestion.  If we have developed negative beliefs and bad characteristics, then the easiest solution  is to be hypnotised out of them.

QUESTION:

Does hypnotism belong to the Devil?

ANSWER:

Hypnotism belongs to neither the Devil nor God.  These are concepts which have resulted from suggestions themselves, giving people the beliefs they have.  The acceptance of suggestion and the formation of beliefs is part of nature itself;  without it, we would have no beliefs, no mental development nor conscious awareness whatsoever.

QUESTION:

Can hypnotherapy give miraculous cures?

ANSWER:

Our own mind and body can and does give us miraculous cures, just as it can and does give us debilitating ailments.  Hypnotherapy does not give anything except suggestions acceptable to the subconscious mind for the subconscious mind to adopt and react to.

QUESTION:

Will a person who has been hypnotised always be under the hypnotist's control?

ANSWER:

NO!  A hypnotist never ever has his subject under his control.  This may appear to be the case when we see a stage show but the hypnotist conducting that show has chosen the subjects carefully (not in a way you would notice) to enhance his performance.  This makes it appear that he has absolute control. This would ensure his continued success as a stage hypnotist.  Sensationalism draws the crowds. If you were to pay close attention to the show, you would often see the hypnotised subjects smiling when they were instructed to do a silly act and often the hypnotist will quietly dismiss a non responsive subject from the stage show ensuring that the illusion of his control over his subjects continues.  In respect of films!!  Well, films are fiction but they can give many people the wrong impression.
